Circa 1st-2nd century AD A carved marble plaque fragment depicting Atlas with raised arms against a colonnade background, with developed muscled, curled hair and stern features; supplied on a custom-made display stand. Marble, 1.7 kg, 22 cm (8 1/2") From the private collection of an Essex Gentleman.

Fine condition. A rare subject.
