Circa 6th-8th century AD A micro-mosaic of cuboid tesserae in cream, grey, white, red, black, pink and blue depicting a goat advancing on a white field within a grey, red and black border; mounted in a custom-made display frame. Marble, 775 grams including frame, 29 x 29 cm (11 1/2 x 11 1/2") From an Edwardian collection; ex Alex Szolin of Ancient & Orient in the 1990's.

Very fine condition.
