Near Eastern Luristan Master of Animals Staff Finial

Circa 1250-650 BC A cast bronze tubular bifacial finial formed with a human face below the balustered collar, with two beasts flanking, the necks emerging from the tube and their hindlegs forming the lower section of the mount; socket with mouth below; supplied with custom-made display stand. Bronze, 160 grams, 17 cm including stand (7") Ex Dutch collection, acquired between 1960's and 1990.
