Achaemenid Empire, circa 550-330 BC A cast bronze figure of a naked, winged male putto; the legs spread, left arm extended and hand open, the right arm thrust forward gripping a thunderbolt; to each shoulder, a small wing; the hair drawn up in curls framing the rounded face. Bronze, 38 grams, 54 mm (2 1/4") Private collection, Birmingham, UK; acquired 1960's.
