Indian Indus Valley Globular Vessel
Circa 2nd millenium BC A large ceramic pot of globular form with short neck and thick inverted rim; the decorative scheme comprising bands of geometric designs alternating with fish to the shoulder and animals to the equator (birds, lion, buffalo") with cruciform designs between, all executed in black, red and cream. Ceramic, 4 kg, 30 cm. (12") Ex David Gee collection.
