Circa 3rd-1st century BC A large Bactrian globular jar in cream-pink fabric with rounded base, funicular rim and conical shoulder; decorated on the neck with painted black rectangular panels containing quatrefoil voids, on the shoulder with a band of dense painted ornament comprising lentoid panels and double scrolls, on the outer rim with paired lentoids and on the inner rim with bilinear swags; the applied handle ribbed and scrolled to the upper end. Ceramic, 4.8 kg, 33 cm (13 1/4") Property of a London Gentleman; acquired before 1975. [No Reserve]
