Circa 1st century BC-1st century AD A Danubian cast lead plaque with figural design in several scenes: an arch with hatched columns and roundels to the vault, with coiled serpents above in the upper corners; within the arch, three bands of figures: upper - Sol Invictus in a chariot pulled by two horses, with radiate crown and cloak; middle - two horsemen approaching a crowned standing figure, a soldier with spear to the left, standing figure and prone figure trampled by the horseman to the right; lower - a feasting scene with diners at a table flanked by attendants, a cauldron and dogs below. Lead, 145 grams, 94 mm (3 3/4") From an old Suffolk collection formed in the 1990's. [No Reserve]
