Roman Style Marble Bust

An undated carved marble head of slightly elongated profile with aquiline nose, pursed mouth and lentoid eyes; the hair straight, confined by a fillet secured at the rear. Marble, 545 grams, 11 cm (4 1/2") Ex Steinberg collection. The elongated profile is reminiscent of the image of Stilicho on the diptych in Monza cathedral. [No Reserve]

Very fine condition.
