Circa 6th-11th century AD A mixed group of bronze items comprising: looped tweezers; a cruciform brooch with ring-and-dot detail; an Anglo-Norman openwork dagger chape; a Ringerike Style buckle loop; a shield-shaped zoomorphic strap end; a zoomorphic terminal with slashed rib detailing; a gilt square belt mount; an openwork mount; a Frankish D-shaped belt loop; a dress pin with polyhedral head. Copper-alloy, 125 grams, 22-70 mm (1-2 3/4") Private UK collection, by descent from the vendor's father, who formed his collection in the 1970's-1980's. Parts of this collection were previously sold at Bonham's Antiquities sale 17855, 6 October 2010, Lot 199; and in TimeLine Auctions June 2011 sale. [10, No Reserve]
