Russian, circa 17th-18th century AD An icon painted on a wooden board; the icon showing the Virgin of Vladimir nimbate with inclined head in a dark robe, cradling Christ in a red tunic embracing her; the board rectangular and slightly curved in section with two slots to the rear for attachment. Wood, 955 grams, 31 cm (12") From an old English collection formed in the 1950's. [No Reserve]
