Circa 2nd-3rd century AD A fragment of mustard-brown textile with a circular embroidered panel in red and dark blue; the panel with a blue square, a roundel to the middle of each edge and leaf-motif to each corner; each roundel with a geometric motif; to the centre a nimbate bust probably intended to represent Christ; supplied with card backing. Textile, 30 grams including backing, 29 cm cloth only (11 1/2") Ex London collection; aquired in the late 1960's.
