Circa late 15th-early 16th century AD A cast bronze purse bar with gilt fittings comprising two hexagonal-section sleeves with chevron detail; the central element a D-shaped gilt panel with engraved 'tears of Christ' design. Bronze, 75 grams, 16 cm (6 1/4") Ex Barker collection; acquired in the 1970's-1980's. Found on the Thames foreshore.
