Circa 17th century AD A gold finger ring with plain hoop rising to foliate shoulders flanking a rectangular bezel with claw setting for a facetted cabochon garnet; to the obverse of the bezel, engraved initals 'H.B.'. Gold and garnet, 2.70 grams, 24 mm (approximate size British S, USA 9 1/4, Europe 20.0, Japan 19") (1") Private collection, Nottinghamshire, UK; acquired late 1980's-early 1990's; found Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, UK, 1981.
