Circa 16th-17th century A cast lead cloth seal with tabs; the seal with raised design of armorial bearings within a scroll border bearing the legend in seriffed capitals '*FIAT*VOLVNTAS*DOMINI*' (Let the Lord's will be done"); the heraldic design comprising an ornate shield bearing three boar's heads couped, an armet with complex lambrequin and the crest a boar rampant. Lead, 34 grams, 65 mm (2 1/2") Property of a Buckinghamshire Gentleman; acquired before 1990. The arms are probably those of the Swynford family.
