Circa 17th century AD A substantial cast pewter table spoon with long bowl, hexagonal-section handle and flat lozengiform finial stamped; to the reverse of the bowl, a strengthening rib; to the finial the initials 'I B', each within a shield; to the reverse of the finial, a punched mark of a pelletted crown. Pewter, 70 grams, 20 cm. (8") Property of a Hampshire Gentleman; acquired before 1990. [No Reserve]
