Circa 16th century AD A cast bronze petronel with hexagonal-section barrel, flared stock and square guard; touch-hole to the lower barrel; ring-and-dot motifs to the stock and punched-point arcs to the upper faces of the barrel. Cf. Egan, G. Base-Metal Toys, fig.12a Bronze, 29 grams, 90 mm (3 1/2") Ex David Winter collection, Kent; found River Thames foreshore, London, UK, 1980's.
