Circa 16th century AD A ceramic whiteware jar of biconical profile with broad everted rim, the interior glazed in deep green. Ceramic, 350 grams, 12 cm (4 3/4") Property of a Sussex Gentleman; acquired before 1990. Possibly Surrey whiteware, the jar's rim being oversized to allow a cloth to be tied around it.
