An undated hand-forged iron sword with hilt of Petersen's Type K, composite; the blade 78 cm long, flat and broad with shallow central fuller and rounded tip; the guard elliptical in plan with inlaid silver borders to the outer faces; the tang broad and flat; the pommel with broad lower guard and five D-shaped lobes; to one face of the blade, an incised design to accept inlay, composed from geometric elements '+SININIS+'.
