Circa 6th-5th century BC with later inlay A cast bronze dagger with lapis lazuli decoration on the hilt; the lentoid-section blade triangular with two convergent bands of four grooves and crescents between at the top; the guard an elliptical-section flange with the grip emerging above; the pommel formed from two later pelta-shaped blocks of lapis lazuli attached to a flange above the grip, with two further triangular blocks inset above the junction with the guard; supplied with a custom-made display stand. Bronze and lapis lazuli, 330 grams, 34 cm including stand (13 1/2") Property of a European Gentleman living in London; acquired in the UK before 1980. [No Reserve]
