Medieval Iron Sword Pommel

Circa 15th century AD A cast iron elliptical sword pommel with carinated profile; to the upper face a circumferential band of pellets and another across the top, to one side a ropework band and to the other, addorsed animal heads with palmettes and trefoils between; below the trefoil, the incised maker's mark 'TR'; Spanish workmanship. Iron, 335 grams, 67 mm (2 1/2") Property of a Sussex Gentleman; acquired before 1990.

Very fine condition.
