Circa 12th-15th century AD A mixed group of bronze sword pommels comprising: one Type J with large disc and scooped profile to disc faces, rectangular slot; one Type E, hexagonal in profile with lozengiform faces and facetting; one pommel or knife hilt cap with whorl detail to the upper face, carinated profile and ropework collar below. Copper-alloy, 160 grams, 30-33 mm (1 1/4") Private collection, Nottinghamshire, UK; acquired late 1980's - early 1990's. Type E similar to an example in Royal Armouries collection, item XIa.1 [3, No Reserve]
