Caucasian Silver-Hilted Dagger and Scabbard

Circa 20th century AD A steel-bladed kindjal dagger with silver-bound scabbard comprising: a curved notched blade with edges to both sides; the hilt wooden with silvered bronze locket, broad wooden grip and D-shaped silvered bronze cap; the scabbard formed in steel with single suspension ring below the throat, sheet silver arabesque plates to the throat, and curved chape with silvered bronze knop finial; solder to the seam. 395 grams, 42 cm (16 1/2") Private collection, Nottinghamshire, UK; acquired late 1980's-early 1990's. [No Reserve]
