Circa 19th century AD or later A ceramic floor tile in the form of an eight-pointed star, with green and black glaze decoration; the image a mounted swordsman with conical cap and prominent moustache, wearing a long riding coat; his feet in stirrups and his right arm raised brandishing a shamshir, surrounded by a dense foliate pattern. Cf. khatam tiles in Islamic Pottery 800-1400 AD, Victoria and Albert Museum Guide, 1969 items 128-9 Ceramic, 1.0 kg, 23 cm (9") London private collection, acquired 1950's-1970's.
