Gandharan Stone Figural Roundel

Circa 1st-3rd century AD A carved greystone roundel with domed reverse; to the obverse a pelletted border containing a carved scene depicting a seated figure with one arm above the head, the other extended to a facing child; a bearded figure behind the seat; a child seated atop a column with one hand cupping the chin, and a child behind; T-shaped base with undulating lines beneath. Stone, 905 grams, 17 cm (6 1/2") Private collection, UK; acquired in the 1990's.
