Circa 19th-20th century AD A matched pair of carved bifacial wooden figurines depicting a rider on a rearing horse; the horseman with elaborate headdress, neck- and armrings, scrolled scarf, hatched trousers, feet in stirrups; the horse with elaborate harness and saddle blanket, the reins held in the rider's hand; supplied with custom-made display stands. Wood, 1.4 kg, 33 cm including stand (13") From the private collection of an Essex Gentleman. [2]
