Circa 12th century AD or later A model of a Buddhist stupa formed in gold sheet; the base a hollow tube with ribbed detail to the exterior; the basal flange with radiating leaf-shaped repoussé detailing; the upper face with similar repoussé; the dome a carved crystal with beaded filigree collar and similar tripartite lozenge motif to the exterior; the spire a hollow column with three discoidal and one square transverse plates, each with filigree and beaded wire detailing. Silver-gilt and crystal, 70 grams, 86 mm (3 1/4") Acquired on the London art market in the 1960's.
