Western China, circa 5th-6th century AD A ceramic pot formed as a human head with short hair to the sides and long to the crown; the face with sharp features and painted facial hair; small piercings to the chin and earlobes; funicular spout to the top of the head and small loop handle to the rear. Ceramic, 945 grams, 17 cm (6 3/4") Acquired on the London art market in the 1960's.
