Pair of heavy and very elaborately carved, Chinese ivory Emperor and Empress; each dressed in ornate and densely carved robes and seated in reticulated thrones raised on paw feet and on double lotus bases: he of dragon motif holding his beads; and she of phoenix motif holding a gift; H: 12 1/4" (each approx.); fine hardwood stands (one probably huang huali)
