Rare pair of tall Chinese Tang Dynasty, sancai glazed pottery figures of standing officials: one in chestnut glazed coat; the other in green glazed coat, each wearing a hat with a moulded attribute and with some original pigment details, hands folded at their chests; both with very attractive spotted and drip glazes down to the base, H: 27 1/4"; Provenance: Estate of Dr. E.F. Simpson of Los Angeles
