c. 1870, very rare tin toy, hand-painted and designed to emulate the real Lee and Larnard Fire Engine manufactured in Philadelphia. The attention to detail includes white metal figures depicted in working poses, while the red, yellow, and blue open body with black stack and patterned stenciling at front plate form an incredible visual, this toy is featured in George Brown's Sketch Book. 10 3/4" l. Axle hitch resoldered, boiler repainted. (VG Cond) 10 3/4" l.
