JAPANESE LACQUERED BOXES, TWO, W 1"-3", INCLUDING MEIJI PERIOD:Including 1 gilt and lacquered square box with a mountainous motif at the cover, Meiji period, H.3/8", W.1 1/8" square, no apparent marks; and 1 double fan-form lacquer and painted box with gilt accents consisting of flowers and a village scene, H.1 1/4", W.3 1/2" x 2 1/2", no apparent marks.
First box appears to be in good condition; the second box has many losses to the applied decoration and nicks to the wood (evident in the photo), the underside with two punctures to the lacquer. Chs
