Orig wraps; good, labels removed from top edge of front wrap, corners curled, wraps toned and foxed, gentle creasing. Consists of a series of plat maps (mostly double-page), with businesses and government buildings labeled. Prtd color. Mounted to front wrap is a printed label that reads “Insurance Map of/ Cherrydale, VA./ Loaned to/ Worth B .Stottlemyer Agent/ by/ Sanborn Map Company/ Pelham/ New York,” with “Cherrydale, VA.” typewritten. Pencil signaturre of “W. B. Stottlemyer” apperas on recto of first wrap. ++ Clarendon Including Ballston, Arlington County, Virginia. NY: Sanborn Map Company, 1929. Same format as Cherrydale. Quarter cloth and paper-covered boards. Covers toned, foxed, and scuffed, little wear at corners. ++ Bower’s Map Of Washington And Environs compiled from official data and personal research. Wash: Robert Fay Bower, (nd), [ca. 1931-1940]. Width: 36”. Right half of the sheet’s lower edge is separated from the lower roller, with a short tear extending just inside the lower border. Otherwise very good. Capitol, Union Station, and 3-mile radius highlighted in orange pencil (probably by the publisher). A few minor details inserted with small pencil marks near Bailey’s Crossroads. ++ Mitchell’s School Atlas: Comprising Maps and Tables designed to Accompany Mitchell’s School and Family Geography. Original cloth-backed printed paper-covered boards; externally worn. 31 single-page, double-page, and partial-page maps (numbered to “32,” with number “6” omitted, as called for in contents). Some foxing and other imperfections to text (mostly noticeable on the versos). Contents very good.
