Spectacular Chinese Embroidered Silk Altar Frontal, 19th century, executed on a coral silk ground with brocade border, the design executed in colored silk and gold thread with lotus blossoms and scrolling foliage with a border of melons and plum blossoms, the frontal as one horizontal panel, the top divided into five panels to be placed on the flat top of the altar table, h. 36-3/8", w. 74".
Overall very good condition - one small tear - no repairs noted - no dry rot -a few scattered loose threads - some minor scattered tiny water spots - a finely executed example in very good condition.
