Regency Rosewood and Parcel-Gilt Window Seat, first quarter 19th century, one side outscrolled and with a padded armrest, supported by gilt foliate-carved uprights, the long padded rectangular seat raised on saber legs headed by gilt foliate carving and ending in like-carved toes, h. 27-1/2", w. 17-1/2", l. 44".
Structurally sound with beautifully rendered details. The gilded surfaces are very old and have scattered losses and abrasions, but no large single areas. There are losses and repairs to the raised molding framing the seat, with a loss at the rounded corner. No breaks to legs or frame. Old soiling to the silk covering.
