Fine Cased Four Volume Set of Abbeville Edition, Double Elephant Folio of The Birds of America after John James Audubon (American, 1785-1851), featuring 435 fascimile plates, bound in full green morocco leather to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of John James Audubon, accompanied by a custom oak cabinet with sliding shelves, cabinet h. 30" w. 45-1/2", d. 35", each volume h. 40", w. 27".
All plates in very good condition, displaying excellent color and no fading. Plates are protected by glassine sheets. Minor creasing to the top of pages due to handling. Contains 435 plates. Since the plates are fascimile prints, any foxing or smudging visible in the plates is a reflection of the original plates.
