Western Mexico, Colima, c.200 BC - 200 AD. A burnished rust colored terra cotta figure of a reclining ill female tied around the waist to a litter, her head beneath a circular canopy. She holds her left jaw a if a tooth in pain. See The Weisman Collection of Pre-Columbian Medical Sculpture. p. 14, fig. XXI. Weisman calls this canopy a "sun visor." L: 9cm. Perfect and very rare.
