Mexico, Veracruz, Remojades, c.250 BC - 2

Mexico, Veracruz, Remojades, c.250 BC - 250 AD. A very nice crème slip ceramic of a standing male dancer clad in full dress. He stands wearing a feathered gown which covers most of his torso. He also wears a tall crested headdress and holds a gourd on right hand. He also wears two large leg spools on each leg. Back side reveals more detail along with flared skirt. Unlike two previous pieces, this example has human face although still quite stylized. Burnished on legs and under chin. On wood base. Ht: 13". Some repairs. A fantastic piece of art!
