Thomas Jefferson’s March 14, 1801 Inauguration Speech March 14, 1801-Dated, Newspaper, “WEEKLY MUSEUM,” Published at New York City, Containing the entire text of Thomas Jefferson’s Inauguration Speech, Printed upon the Entire Back Page, Very Fine. This original, historic newspaper measures about 9.5” x 11.5” has four pages with some scattered light wrinkling to the front page, not affecting the text of Thomas Jefferson’s Inauguration Speech. There is also news of John Adams passing through New York City on his way to Baltimore, and that Jefferson has left the Seat of the Senate, becoming the President of the Senate, prior to his election to President. News of the goings on in Washington, DC on the day of the Inauguration, plus a list of key Appointments made by President Jefferson to his new Cabinet are reported. Also, noting that James Madison has been Appointed Secretary of State, Henry Dearborn to Secretary of War sand Levi Lincoln, Attorney General of the United States. Entire back page, which is quite clean and well printed, is completely devoted to the “word for word” speech by President Thomas Jefferson’s Inaugural Speech.
