"The City of Ambitions", 1910, Similar to National Gallery of Art Key Set: 342, photogravure on tissue or vellum, dated 1910 in lower margin, in pencil, in hand consistent with Stieglitz, mounted to vintage mat similar to other photogravures.

This photo does not have "To KNR 291" on the reverse of the mat in Stieglitz's hand but mat and its condition is similar to those so marked. Descendent reports that a few mats were trimmed when framed after Katherine Rhoades' death and the custodian of the estate reported "some markings were cut off."
