Le Gout du Bonheur (Taste of Happiness) Printed on Velin d'Arches Paper. (the paper is handmade and has hand torn deckle edges) Published by Carl Schunemann, Germany, 1970. UNSIGNED AND DATED IN THE PLATE. 9.10.64 IV Dims 10" by 13" Printed in a limited edition of 666 copies in 1970 Picasso utilized a new technique of printing for this work, which had been developed by Gunter Dietz. The technique involved a silkscreen-like process in three dimensions, by which almost perfect replicas of Picasso’s original drawings were made. The original drawings were created in pencil, India ink, charcoal, colored chalk and oil crayon. The Dietz process enabled these fine works from Picasso’s sketchbooks to be reproduced in their original sizes. Picasso personally participated in their production and design and wished them to represent ‘the confidence of an eighty-three year old man on the subject of desire and love'. Accompanied by a certificate from the folio colophon page (see photo) unframed
