Pri uslovii polnogo kooperirovaniya, my by uzhe stoyali na Sotsialisticheskoy Pochve [Had We Reached the State of Universal Cooperation, We Would by Now Have Been Standing with Both Feet on Socialist Soil], a poster by an anonymous artist. Published by Tsentrsoyuz, Moscow, c. 1926-1927, 59 x 35 cm.
The poster's slogan comes from Lenin's work "On Cooperation" (1923). Those familiar with Lenin's writings might note that he was specifically talking about village cooperatives, but after Lenin's death the oft-repeated quote gained a life of its own. The artist, most likely unfamiliar with Lenin's densely written work, interpreted it to include all sorts of cooperatives. In any case, such an expansive interpretation was well suited for the broad-based Tsentrsoyuz, the Union of Consumer Cooperatives.
