Graphic artist Avenir Chernomordik started producing posters in the 1920s, and was still active in this field in the late 1960s. His works received meritorious mentions at the major 1932 exhibition “Poster at the Service of the Five Years Plan” and at the 1934 Intourist Posters competition. Chernomordik also worked as a book illustrator, and was an accomplished printmaker.
