Pokoritelyam vselennoj - slava! [Glory to the Conquerors of the Universe!], a poster by Valentin Viktorov (1909-1981). Published by IZOGIZ, Moscow, 1961, 110 x 58 cm.
Viktorov's publishers were apparently pleased with the artist's 1960 design (see lot 128), and asked for more. The artist's 1961 design contains references to Soviet probes that photographed the dark side of the Moon, starting with Luna-3 in 1959. For additional information on the artist, see lot 105.
