A lovely French Art Nouveau silver cane of a butterfly in flowers. The silver loop handle is 3 1/2" high and 1 1/2" at its widest. It depicts with very fine detail, a butterfly with upright wings among lots of flowers. There are tiny French hallmarks. The petite, thin shaft is ebony with a 1 1/3" burnished brass and iron ferrule. The overall length is 33 2/3" and the condition is very good. It is ca 1895, and it is a marvelous example of the style, with a very unusual subject. Estimate: $750-$950.
