A great ivory cane of two horses. The elephant ivory handle is 2" high and 3 1/2" to the side. It depicts a nicely detailed pair of horses with amber glass eyes and flowing manes. It is configured with a slight bend so that it accommodates a right-handed user very comfortably. The shaft is malacca and there is a 1 1/8" sterling collar that is scroll-decorated and inscribed with a "J" for the owner. It also is London hallmarked for 1896. The overall length is 35" and the condition is very good. It is a super carved ivory animal example. Estimate: $1800-$2800.
