A lovely vermeil Art Nouveau cane of a maiden. The vermeil silver semi-crook handle is 3" high and about 3 1/2" to the side. It depicts a young maiden, done in the style of Alphonse Mucha, the noted Czech Art Nouveau painter who featured beautiful young ladies in his work. She is wearing flowers in her hair and trailing vines and leaves lend to the flowing Art Nouveau presentation. The shaft is dark brown painted hardwood with a 1" horn ferrule. The overall length is 36" and the condition is very good. It is Continental, ca 1890's, and it is a beautiful example of the style. Estimate: $900-$1300.
