L’Affiche d’Art, Paris Usually seen with the addition of text at the bottom, this poster advertises Simone Frévalles’s leading role in La Malibran, a production focusing on the life of the famous mezzo-soprano Maria Malibran. As Vertès was known for his lush, high fashion designs, it is no wonder that Frévalles is shown in lavish Art Deco costume, dripping with pearls.
