French Louis XV Fountainhead
likely 19th century, consisting of Cupid holding a bow in his raised left arm, seated on rocaille base, surrounded with two doves, a flaming torch, a quiver of arrows and a scroll column, cast and carved dinanderie. Fountainhead: 52 x 48 in.
The Penns purchased the fountainhead in Paris. This lot is accompanied by an antique engraving illustrating a similar sculpture.
Fair age appropriate condition with old repairs to Cupid's wrist and wings; Weathered patina.
