One electronically tested 14KT white gold ladies cast assembled tanzanite and diamond necklace with a bright polish finish. The necklace features a series of tanzanite and diamond stations interspersed by a flexible ribbon of tanzanite. Seventeen inch length, terminating in a concealed clasp with safety. Identified with markings of “K14”. Condition is new, good workmanship. Containing: Eight prong set oval mixed cut natural tanzanite, measuring 7.00 x 5.00 x 3.25mm, 8% bulge factor, approximate total weight of 6.80ct., clarity is eye clean, type I, medium, very slightly grayish, violoetish blue color, (GIA vB 5/3) to medium, very slightly grayish, bluish purple, (GIA bP 5/3), cut is good. Transmitting light with no distortion, transparent. Graded in the setting. Fifty-five prong set oval mixed cut natural tanzanite, measuring 6.00 x 4.00 x 260mm, 8% bulge factor, approximate total weight of 24.89ct., clarity is eye clean, type I, medium, very slightly grayish, violetish blue color, (GIA vB 5/3) to medium, very slightly grayish, bluish purple, (GIA bP 5/3), cut is good. Transmitting light with no distortion, transparent. Graded in the setting. Tanzanite is a very rare gemstone that is only found in the country of Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967. Tiffany & Company, named the stone Tanzanite. It is found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Tanzanite occurs in gray, brown, violet, blue, reddish-purple, & green. The gem is interesting because of its exceptional pleochroism. Rotated in different directions a tanzanite will exhibit multiple changes of color. Tanzanite has a low tolerance to ultrasonic cleaning, and should not be cleaned using this method. One Hundred Twelve prong set round brilliant cut diamonds, measuring 1.60 x 0.96mm (depth est.) approximate total weight of 112 Stones = 1.93ct. Graded in the setting.
