Description

2011 Mark Letestu Game Worn Winter Classic Pittsburgh Penguins Jersey.  On the first day of 2011 hockey history was made when the Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh met for a clash at Pittsburgh's Heinz Field for the fourth annual NHL Winter Classic. The participating teams played on a temporary rink built on the stadium's football field, drawing crowd of 68,111. Penguins and Caps players all wore vintage uniforms, with the currently offered powder blue gamer representing the same style hue as the 1973 Pens squad. A record television audience of 4.6 million viewers watched the Capitals defeat the Penguins 3-1 during that memorable days and the offered jersey was worn by Pittsburgh star Mark Letestu during the second period. Vintage team logo occupies the jersey front, joined by the special logo created for the event. Lace-up collar adds to the uniqueness of the piece. Verso has two-color tackle twill "10" and "LETESTU" attached to a name plate. As can be expected from this one-game style, wear is barely discernible, however the provenance in undisputable. Tag in inner tail comes from Cutting Edge Sports and includes a Winter Classic Logo as well as name of equipment manager Dana Heinze. Heinze has also placed a blue sharpie signature to the garment's fight strap. Mei-Gray tag also resides in the rear left tail. Be one of the first in the hobby to own one of these significant gamers, which will be sure to capture a hefty premium as we distance ourselves from the event. LOA from the Pittsburgh Penguins.
